Justice Council ... "Our laws do not oppose norms of our society"

In applying its provisions, Social Justice Council in Northern and Eastern Syria is based on laws that are consistent with the social justice system in AA societies and international laws, with four offices overseen by 13 members.

The Social Justice Council will formulate the general policy of social justice in AA areas, follow up the work of similar councils and their conformity with the laws, and consider all cases of complaints and appeals related to the dismissal of judges.

The Social Justice Council is the third in the structure of AA along with the General Council and the Executive Council. Started its work on April 25 this year after being approved by the General Council.

The Council of Justice is composed of 13 members elected by the boards of justice of the seven administrations, all of them technocrats "judges and jurists".

The Social Justice Council has four offices: The Peoples' Defense Court, the Prisons Administration, the Office of Democratic Rights and the Academies of Social Justice.

In this regard, the co-chair of the Social Justice Council, Imad al-Karraf, said that they take into consideration the norms of AA societies and the international laws that States observe in applying their laws and establishing the principle of social justice among members of their societies, while applying their judgments and promulgating their laws.

The Justice Council holds monthly periodic meetings of its similar committees in the autonomous and civil administrations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria with the aim of evaluating the work.

It is worth mentioning that there is a Justice Council in each of the administration of Al-Jazeera, Afrin, Euphrates and Manbij, while there is one Justice Council for each al-Tabqa and al-Raqqa while there is no Justice Council in Deir-ez-Zor, but the Court of Justice.
