Jeffrey: Biden did not give Erdogan a green light to launch attacks on NES

The former US envoy to Syria, James Jeffrey, confirmed that US President Joe Biden did not give Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a green light to launch a new attack on northern and eastern Syria, and made it clear that Washington would not abandon the partnership with the Syrian Democratic Forces.

James Jeffrey said in statements to Al-Hurra TV that President Biden did not give a green light to a Turkish military operation in northern Syria.

Jeffrey added that there is continuous cooperation on the ground between the US forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The former US envoy to Syria stressed that Washington cannot abandon its partnership with the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sought to persuade both the United States and Russia to give him the green light to launch new occupational attacks on northern and eastern Syria, but his efforts apparently failed.

Erdogan recently met with US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the G-20 summit, and all reports said that Erdogan failed to reach an understanding with the American president.
