ISIS member killed south of Al-Omar oil field in Deir ez-Zor

ISIS member was killed during an attack on the Internal Security Forces' checkpoint south of the Al-Omar oil field in Deir ez-Zor province.

This evening, a group of three mercenaries attacked a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces in the village of "Deman" in the town of Al-Buseira, northeast of Deir ez-Zor, south of Al-Omar oil field.

The group tried to stab one of the checkpoint members and managed to slightly injure two of them, according to a source from Deir ez-Zor.

In response to the attack, a mercenary who was part of the attacking group was killed, while the other two escaped.

The source did not provide further information.

The attack comes a day after an ISIS cell was arrested in Deir ez-Zor and an ISIS prison in Al-Hasakeh was captured by the security forces.

Many reports have warned that ISIS could step up its attacks, taking advantage of the world's preoccupation with the Coronavirus.
