Iran welcomed any efforts to defuse tension in Gulf

Iran said on Monday it welcomed any efforts to defuse tension in the Gulf region and was ready to talk with neighboring countries at any time.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said Monday: "We welcome all efforts to reduce tension in the region as well as dialogue with neighboring countries and ready to do so at any time," according to the agency "Fars" Iran.

He continued: "The Islamic Republic has long welcomed the holding of talks with the Gulf States and invited them to sign the non-aggression agreement."

Mousavi stressed that "Iran's electronic defense capabilities are very high and US attacks will have no impact," in the wake of the launch of Washington electronic attacks against missile launchers and an Iranian spy network.

The Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology said earlier in the day that "American electronic attacks on Iranian targets were not successful."
