Indian Foreign Ministry rejects mediation to resolve dispute with Pakistan

The Indian Foreign Ministry made the remarks after recent events in disputed Kashmir, it said "We believe that India and Pakistan have a number of effective ways of communication and there is no need for third-party mediation, according to the agency Sputnik.

It added, "We believe that none of our actions has led to an escalation in Kashmir, and most countries have expressed their understanding of India's position ... The ball is now in Pakistan's court to ease tensions by taking immediate and credible action against terrorist groups on Pakistani lands."

Russia has been mediating to ease tension between India and Pakistan, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said in a statement.
