History repeats itself in Afrin

The people of Tirbê Spîyê in al-Jazeera region pointed out that the Turkish state was trying to take advantage of the ongoing conflicts to revive the so-called Melli Charter. Today Erdogan waned to repeat the scenario of Iskenderun to annex Afrin to Turkey, after settling his mercenaries.

The Turkish occupation continues its colonial practices in Afrin. After occupying Afrin, changing the demographics and settling the mercenaries' families in Afrin residents' homes, the construction of the partition wall around Afrin followed that in preparation for its annexation to the Turkish state. Tirbê Spîyê district's people explained that the purpose of building the wall around Afrin was to annex it to the Turkish areas like what had happened in Iskenderun.

Suleiman Hussein pointed out that the Turkish authorities were following the footsteps of the Ottoman Empire in the occupation of the neighboring regions and extending its influence in the Middle East. He explained that the goal of building the occupation wall around Afrin was to annex it to the Turkish territories, in addition to settling its mercenaries and their families within it.

Hussein stressed that the Syrian regime must have shouldered its responsibility towards these actions that violated the Syrian state's sovereignty by annexing the Syrian city to the Turkish state. He called on all peoples to stand up against the Turkish colonial practices.

The citizen Mohammed Abdel Qader Aziz denounced the practices of the Turkish occupation in the city of Afrin Syrian, and said: "Turkey is trying to restore the glories of its ancestors and divide the Middle East areas in general and the areas of Syria in particular to loot the goods of the region and undermine the will of the peoples."

Aziz said that the Turkish state was trying to take advantage of the ongoing conflicts to revive the so-called Melli Charter. He said: "During the French mandate, Syria was divided into five states. The city of Afrin was annexed to Aleppo state according to the Charter of the Melli. The people of Turkey have refused to participate in the referendum. Today, Erdogan wants to repeat the same scenario by the annexation of Afrin to Turkey, where he occupied Afrin and resettled his mercenaries to conduct another referendum to separate Afrin."

Mohammed Abdel Qader Aziz stressed the necessity to expose the Turkish practices and conspiracy against the peoples of the area, their violations of looting and plundering the territories of the region and the use of Islamic religion as a tool to occupy the area.
