Head of Libyan Tribal Council: We are ready to repel of Turkish attack

Today, the head of the Supreme Council of the Sheikhs and notables of Libya, Muhammad al-Misbahi, affirmed the right of the tribesmen to defend their country and repel the Turkish attack.

Muhammad al-Misbahi confirmed that the tribesmen are the ones who are fighting in the ranks of the Libyan National Army, adding that the tribes will support the Egyptian intervention in Libya if Turkey crosses the Sirte-al-Jafra line, according to Al-Arabiya network.

He pointed out that millions are ready to take up arms, saying: "We will repel the Turkish attack if it crosses Sirte – al-Jafra line."

And he added that the tribesmen constitute the largest bloc in the national army census, noting that several countries "failed us except for Egypt and some Arab countries."

Al-Misbahi said: "We will not let the Egyptian army fight in Libya alone," stressing that the tribal delegation will visit the headquarters of the Arab League to withdraw recognition from Accord government.

Al-Misbahi explained, "Our role is the way to secure Libya's progress towards elections that establish a civil state."

Abdel Karim al-Orfi, the official spokesman for the Supreme Council of Sheikhs and notables of Libya, revealed the tribes have prepared lists of young volunteers to train and arm them, in response to the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to fight "the Turkish colonists and their mercenaries' militia."

He stressed that they will not allow the Brotherhood to plunder Libya's wealth, as they will stand in the face of the aspirations and dreams of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on their lands.
