Hatay meeting has been canceled

The meeting scheduled to be held in the Turkish state of Hatay had been canceled after the rejection of the mercenaries of the so-called National Army to merger with Hayet Tahrir al-Sham's (previously Jabhet al-Nusra).

A source from our agency, Hawar news agency (ANHA) said on Thursday that a Turkish-sponsored meeting was scheduled to take place between the commanders of Heyat Tahrir al-Sham's mercenaries and the National Army's mercenaries formed by Turkey at 14:00. The same source reported that the meeting has been canceled.

The source touched upon the reason for the cancellation of the meeting, and said, "The National Army refuses categorically the integration with Hayet Tahrir al-Sham," as Heyat Tahrir al-Sham killed hundreds of their mercenaries in fierce fighting took place in early February.

Regarding the aim of the meeting, the source said, "Turkey is trying to unite the rescue government belonging to Heyat Tharir al-Sham with the interim government of the Syrian Coalition."

The source added that no date had been set for the meeting.
