France warned Turkey on Monday against any military attack on northern and eastern Syria, which could have "serious humanitarian consequences".
The French Foreign Ministry said in a statement that any unilateral action could have serious humanitarian consequences and would not create conditions for the safe and voluntary return of refugees to their areas.
"Terrorist detainees, including those of foreign nationality, should be prosecuted at the place where they committed their crimes."
"Their detention in northeastern Syria is a security necessity in order to prevent them from strengthening the ranks of terrorist groups," the ministry said.
The "Reuters" said that the European countries have so far resisted US calls for the return of prisoners "IS" who come from their country.
The White House announced on Monday that Turkey will soon begin its military operation in northern Syria, and stressed that US forces will not support it and will not participate in it.
