France freezes all arms exports to Turkey

The French foreign and defense ministries have announced a freeze on all French arms exports to Turkey over attacks on northern and eastern Syria.

"Pending the cessation of this attack, France has decided to freeze all plans to export weapons to Turkey, which can be used in this attack," the two ministries said in a joint statement.

They added that this decision comes into force immediately, pointing out that Turkish attacks on northern and eastern Syria threaten the security of Europe.

Earlier, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Finland announced a suspension of arms exports to Turkey, which they may use during attacks on northern and eastern Syria.

The majority of European and Arab forces criticized the Turkish occupation attacks on northern and eastern Syria and warned that Turkey would commit ethnic cleansing practices against the Kurds and re-produce ISIS.
