Explosion at a gas depot in al-Hol camp, reports of 14 injuries

An explosion took place in the town of al-Hul, east of Al-Hasakah canton, the explosion was caused by an explosion of domestic gas cylinders’ depot in al-Hol camp for displaced persons, according to preliminary statistics 14 people were injured.


An explosion took place in a depot of domestic gas cylinders in al-Hol camp, 45 km east of Al-Hasakah, and led to fire outbreak in the camp, according to preliminary statistics obtained by the agency's correspondents that the explosion and fire resulted in 14 civilian casualties moved to the medical point of the Kurdish Red Crescent in the camp, and some of the seriously injured were transferred to the hospital of Hikma in the city of al-Hasakah for treatment.

The correspondent pointed out that there is information circulating from the camp that the bombing is caused by sleeping cells, in a desperate attempt to spread chaos in the camp to help some families of IS mercenaries residing in the camp to flee, but the investigations by the competent authorities are still under way to know the circumstances of this accident, after the explosion, internal security forces immediately surrounded the place.

Over the past two days, some 2,800 new arrivals have arrived at al-Hol camp from the town of al Baghuz, most of them mercenaries, who have recently surrendered to the Syrian Democratic Forces as part of the Battle to Defeat Terrorism.
