Ethiopian Prime Minister arrives in Sudan to mediate between junta, protest leaders

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abe Ahmed is to play the role of mediator between Sudan's military junta and Sudanese protest leaders, who arrived Friday in Khartoum, AFP reported.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abe Ahmed traveled to the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Friday to mediate between the military junta and protest leaders after the bloody crackdown on security forces staged a protest this week.

Ahmed arrived at the airport and will hold a series of meetings with leaders of the military junta that took power after the ouster of President Omar al-Bashir before a later meeting with protest leaders, AFP reported from Khartoum International Airport.
