Escalation in Idlib after Sochi meeting

The regime forces intensified their targeting of the so-called Demilitarized Zones, where they bombarded with rockets, the most violent were on the southern Idlib countryside. This escalation follows the recent summit of Sochi.


The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights noted that the regime forces carried out a series of rocket attacks on Saturday night targeting the so-called Demilitarized Zones.

More than 24 rockets targeted areas in Talas village in the southern sector of Idlib countryside, and also regime forces shelled several others on areas in Jazraya, Zamar in the southern countryside of Aleppo, and other areas in Twail al-Halib and al-Katiba al-Mahjora in the eastern countryside of Idlib, in addition to the bombing of long places in al-Janabra and Kafer Nabotha and the surrounding of al-Jisat and al-Madik Castle in the north-western of the countryside of Hama. 

While the SANA agency related to the Syrian regime pointed out "units of the army carried out rocket attacks on the sites of "Jabhit al-Nusra "in the village of al- Jisat in response to attacks on safe areas and military points in the northern countryside.

The so-called Demilitarized Zones witnessed a military escalation in conjunction with Russian-Turkish talks on the situation in Idlib and in all of these areas where Russia has repeatedly expressed its displeasure at the Turkish procrastination by implementing the Idlib agreement.
