Sources close to the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) reported that a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Abdul Hakim Bashar, and under the auspices of the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Kamiran Hajo, held a meeting of the leaders of the ENKS in Hewler on June 19 this year on strengthening relations with the Turkish state in Afrin . The meeting was attended by Hakim Bashar and Kamiran Hajo, Mohammad Ismail, administrative officer of the political office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, and the council official in Afrin Hassan Ibish (by phone) and 18 other members.
According to the source the main agenda of the meeting focoused on working and cooperating with the Turkish state in order to eradicate the gains made by the people in northern and eastern Syria, and on the need to restore relations with the Turkish state in northern and eastern Syria as it was before the attack on Afrin.
The meeting decided to 'strengthen relations with Turkey'
It is reported that Kamiran Hajo called the council to move urgently to strengthen relations with the Turkish state, especially after the relations have deteriorated in the recent period, and this call came in order to end the gains made by the Kurdish people in northern and eastern Syria.
According to the information, Hajo said during the meeting, "Our relations are continuing with the Turkish state, and if these relations are strengthened, the council may be able to enter Afrin in this period.
'Concessions to the Turkish State'
"We can only enter Afrin with the help and support of the Turkish state, we are now communicating with the Turkish state. It is necessary to continue these meetings, whether openly or secretly, so we will decide, and the ENKS must support our decisions. In order to work for Afrin and enter Afrin we must make concessions. In order to gain the confidence of the Turks, we must urgently communicate with them and agree with them.
Hajo said that gaining the confidence and support of the Turkish state requires them to accept all that Turkey requires. Among other things, Turkey wants us to send periodic reports to the Turkish Foreign Ministry on everything that is happening in Afrin," Hajo said.
Neutralize the opposition within the ENKS
According to sources and information, there is an ongoing conflict between the leadership of the National Council abroad and the leadership of the National Council and civil institutions.
Mohammed Ismael, the administrative officer of the Democratic Kurdish Party-Syria political bureau, addressed the issue during the meeting saying, " there are ongoing disputes and conflicts between the civil society institutions affiliated to the ENKS, and when these differences appear in the media, this leads to the loss of confidence of the Turks in the council, we must neutralize the parties that cause these contradictionswe must work to neutralize (silence) the parties that cause these contradictions."
According to the source, Ismail said during the meeting that while some parties are working to strengthen relations with the Turkish state, others are issuing anti-Turkish statements, which leads to the loss of confidence in the ENKS.
Dirty decisions at the end of the meeting
The source pointed out that the decisions of the leaderships of the ENKS which were taken during the meeting, were:
1-Everyone should avoid any talk, action or activity that target our relations with the Turks. The statements that tarnish Turkey's reputation should not be made, and we must neutralize and silence the groups within the National Council that call for arms against Turkey.
2-No practices of the Turkish State and its mercenaries against the people of Afrin should be opposed.
3-The Turks should be asked to support the Kurdish National Council, and they should be asked to work together to establish internal security.
4-In order to gain the confidence of the Turks, sedition must be stirred between the components of northern and eastern Syria.
5-Sending periodic reports to the Turkish State on the activities of the Democratic Union Party in northern and eastern Syria.
On the basis of these resolutions, the meeting agreed to work with Turkey against the PYD in Afrin as well as against the Democratic Administration in northern and eastern Syria, and to strengthen diplomatic relations with Turkey on this basis.
