The Turkish media had circulated news yesterday about the outbreak of a fire on Imrali Island, where the leader Abdullah Ocalan is being arrested since the conspiracy plotted against him in February 1999.
"Getting rid of opponent leaders is a feature of the tyrants of the Middle East"
On this issue, the Egyptian researcher and journalist Mohsen Awadallah said: "The Turkish authorities are required to immediately reveal the circumstances of this fire, its causes, extent of its impact, how close it is to Mr. Ocalan, and the necessity to reveal his health status, perhaps this matter is by active action, there may be actual intention before Turkey to get rid of Mr. Ocalan, and this feature is not far from the tyrants of the Middle East, and we saw how some of them got rid of the leaders who oppose them. "
Erdogan is trying to escape his political deadlock
He added: "It is necessary to create a kind of pressure, whether from the Kurdish people inside Turkey, or from the Kurds in the capitals of the world by demonstrating in front of Turkish embassies, to compel Turkey to reveal the circumstances of this fire, and to reveal the truth of the health of Mr. Ocalan, it is not easy to assassinate a man in the weight of Ocalan in this way, but Erdogan is likely to do it, in an attempt to escape from his predicament and his political fears, and that is why it is dangerous. "
"Pressure must be made to protect Ocalan, who holds ideas terminating the tragedy of the Middle East."
Awadallah asked, "Is Erdogan circumventing the laws of the European Union that suspended the death sentence, and replacing it with the fabrication of a fire in a manner similar to the alleged and representative coup? There must be a pause to protect Ocalan whose ideas carry a final solution to the tragedy of the Middle East."
Awadallah called on the international parties to act, saying: “The Turkish authorities must immediately reveal the health of Mr. Abdullah Ocalan, and international institutions must press on Ankara in order to show Mr. Ocalan to reassure his supporters and loyalists.”
Awad concluded his speech by saying, "The Turkish government must realize that it is fully responsible for the safety of Mr. Ocalan, and that the threat on his life or any plan to get rid of him will have drastic consequences that may affect the stability and future of Turkey."
