During event, everyone to show solidarity in various ways

A member of the preparatory committee for the sit-in activity of the Kongra Star, Afrin branch, in solidarity with the resistance of hunger strikers said that the activities of the sit-in would continue for up to 15 days, during which all the citizens and civil institutions would join to highlight their solidarity in different ways and means.

"The Resistance of the Hunger Strikers Is Sacred, All of Us Are Laila and Nasir," under this slogan, an activity of solidarity with the resistance of hunger strikers began on Wednesday. It was organized by the Kongra Star, Afrin branch, where the conference pitched a sit-in tent in Ahras district in al-Shahba.

On the sidelines of the first day of the sit-in, our agency, Hawar news agency met with the member of the preparatory committee for the sit-in, Fatima Suleiman, who pointed out that the resistance and will of the resistant in the hunger strike led by the struggler Leila Koven are source of pride for the entire world.

Fatima continued, "In solidarity with this holy resistance, and as our demands are single; lifting the isolation on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, and achieving his freedom from Imrali prison amidst the conditions of war and displacement. We organized a sit-in activity in response to all the policies of genocide practiced by the Turkish state against the people of the region."

Fatima said that the event would last for 15 days. After joining the people of Ahras, the residents of Sherawa and Tel Rifat would participate in the second day. Then, the residents of Berxwedan camp and then Serdem and Afrin camps. The movements and institutions would also participate in the sit-in activity alternatively.

Fatima noted that during the sit-in period, all the people would participate, and each institution would present a solidarity activity in different ways and means.

Fatima pointed out, "The event is scheduled to conclude with issuing a statement to the public opinion with the participation of Afrin and al-shahba people."

The preparatory committee's member Fatima Suleiman noted, "They stand in solidarity with the resistance of Leila Koven and her companions until the isolation on the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan is lifted."
