Diplomatic efforts in Rojava

 Rauf Karkogan

Despite the lack of official recognition of the legitimate sovereignty of Rojava, there is a diplomatic movement and high-level visits, where delegations of the Syrian Democratic Council hold meetings in the capitals of the United States of America and the European Union within the framework of bilateral relations.

Rojava is at the center of regional disputes, and plays a key role in resolving them.  It is the first node in resolving the Syrian crisis, which will not be resolved unless the Kurdish issue is resolved. Peace in Syria depends on the Kurds, and the same is true in Turkey. Thus, it is not possible to solve the basic issue of both countries and bring lasting peace to the region unless the Kurdish issue is resolved.

The issue of negotiations with the ENKS (Kurdish National Council) has been one of the main agendas of Rojava in the recent period, and the political approach represented by ENKS constitutes a problem for the Rojava revolution;  Because of the Council's deep differences with the Autonomous Administration.  It is known that he displays positions that distort the Autonomous Administration every opportunity and place, and on all platforms.  Nevertheless, the process of dialogue and the search for agreement continues.  Recently, the United States took a step to "play its role" as a mediator in order to improve relations between the Kurds.

In order to improve relations between the Kurds;  The conflict between the KDP and the PKK must end and the state of war must end.  The Kurdish consensus depends on the PKK and the KDP.

Starting from ENKS and neutralizing the two limiting forces will not bring the right solution with it.  Looking at the solution individually in Rojava without taking this picture into account raises some doubts.  The Kurdish agreement must be reached in Qandil and Hewler, but because this is required in Rojava;  It raises doubts.

The Kurdish National Council acts as an organization within the KDP, a force that opposes the general interests of the Kurds and harms the interests of Rojava and national unity, and develops all forms of solid relations with the occupying Turkish state.  In fact;  it is doing this to eliminate the Rojava revolution, it is not a question of consensus.  But it is taking a role that poses a threat to the gains of Rojava.  It is clear that all practical political efforts of the Kurdish National Council are based on the basis of counter-revolution.  The reason for the Council's attempts to negotiate and agree with the Rojava Autonomous Administration and its vision must be stopped.

for honest dialogue;  The Kurdish National Council must abandon hostile attitudes, and in order for the mediation efforts of the United States to succeed, this situation must be considered, but we must also pay attention to the background of the matter.  More specifically, it took the path of mediation, as it found it best in its interests to work with weak organizations.  These dialogue efforts have been affected by the developments of its presence in Iraq, as it is not an issue that can be evaluated in the context of Rojava only.

America aims to shift its military presence in Iraq to the Kurdish federal region, and to obtain a safer region due to its conflict with Iran.  Also, her desire to remain in the Middle East requires it to pay attention to dialogue between the Kurds.  On this basis, you want to make a reconciliation between the Kurdish National Council and the Autonomous Administration.  Although it may seem like an innocent attempt, it wants to preserve its relations with the Turkish state.  On the basis of the opposition to the Kurdistan Workers' Party.  In addition to consolidating a strong foundation for the Kurdistan Democratic Party.  The agreement between the Kurdish National Council and Rojava, instead of serving Rojava, serves its interest in increasing the influence of the Democratic Party in Rojava, in addition to weakening Rojava.

After America's withdrawal from Afghanistan, the focus was on the American presence in Iraq and Syria.  Its announcement of its withdrawal from Iraq at the end of the year is interpreted as a withdrawal from Syria.  whether or not it withdraws depends entirely on its political interests.  Its relations with the Kurds must be evaluated on this basis.  While the debate is still heated, diplomatic activity along the Western line of the United States of America must be explained.  The escalation of the Turkish state's attacks on Rojava should be seen as an agreement with the United States of America.  The United States of America is trying, through coercion, to bring about reconciliation between the Autonomous Administration and the Kurdish National Council. The threat of Turkey's attacks proves this and is trying to establish Rojava that obeys and is linked to it.

Some important situations must be clarified to the Kurdish public opinion and the American mediator.  They should ask the Kurdish National Council, which says that the military force called "Peshmerga Roj" belongs to it, because of the presence of this force in the areas of the Kurdistan Workers Party, and their exposure to mines?  The Kurdish National Council is making efforts to legitimize the Turkish occupation in Rojava, and to return the people to the occupied areas endangering the security of the people.  The Kurdish National Council does not recognize the administration of Rojava in any way, and wants to seize the achievements of the revolution.  What reconciliation is being talked about under these conditions?  relationships are required;  principles, integrity and honesty.

Methods that separate the part from the whole, keep the Kurdish problem unresolved.  They want to separate Rojava from the total situation, in order to break the influence of the PKK on the people.  An approach that evaluate the Kurdish problem in a piecemeal fashion will certainly harm the Kurds.  The search for a solution that excludes the PKK, makes attempts at dialogue and reconciliation aimed at harming the Kurds, nothing else.  The strength of the Kurds is their unity, and the efforts of the Kurdish National Council for reconciliation must be evaluated on the basis of threatening the achievements of Rojava rather than being for the sake of Kurdish unity.

You must see the games of the USA, the KDP and the KNC, which have been covered by politics.  The entire Kurdish issue must be put on the table and a unified solution be found.
