On Friday, a joint delegation from the Syria Democratic Council and the autonyms Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria met with Swedish Foreign Minister Anne Linda, Swedish Interior Minister Mikael Damberg and Ambassador Per Ornius, syria affairs officer at the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on several issues of interest to both sides on the situation in Syria in general, the repercussions of the recent escalation in the Idlib area on civilians, and the situation in NE, Syria in particular.
The delegation also explained the suffering of displaced people as a result of the Turkish attacks and the humanitarian situation, and stressed the need for assistance from the international community directly because it is easy to reach its beneficiaries.
The file of ISIS mercenary detainees and their families in NE, Syria was one of the most prominent topics discussed, in addition to the political process in Syria.
According to a source from the joint delegation of NE, Syria, the meeting with representatives of the Sweden Government was positive, and saw similarities of views on the general issues and topics discussed.
