The United Nations called on halting the military operations completely and immediately last month based on UN Security Council Resolution, 2254, to ensure that a ceasefire continues in the war-torn countries such as Syria, Yemen and Libya, after Covid-19 outbreak worldwide.
"We responded to Guterres' call for ceasefire"
In response to UN secretary-general António Guterres' calls, the SDF announced on March 24 full commitment to UN demands and a complete ceasefire in the region, but the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to shell areas of north and east of Syria, forcing further displacement in some areas.
"We welcomed the ceasefire, but the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to bomb our areas,"
The co-chair of the Defense Office in the Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria, Zidan al-Assi said, that Turkey continues to violate UN resolutions : "We welcomed and abided by the UN decision to cease fire, but in return the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to bomb our areas."
"Turkey has never fulfilled its commitments. It is violating the agreements once again today, whether Turkish, American or even Russian," he said.
"Erdogan is afraid of any democratic project"
"Through its attacks, Turkey is trying to strike at the AA's project, and we are sure that it will not stop attacking Syrian territory and the areas of NE Syria in particular," he said.
"Turkey will not stop its war in Syria no matter what happens, it is afraid of the AA democratic project run by the self-administration, because it destroys Erdogan's sultanate in the country. On this basis Turkey is fighting by various means the democratic projects in the Middle East, including the AA's project in NE Syria," he said.
"Effective countries must support UN resolutions"
Al-Assi pointed out that the United Nations over the past 10 years has lost strength in implementing its resolutions, so it remains silent about Turkey's violations in the region, so the world's active countries must intervene to support UN resolutions and put an end to Turkish violations.

"Since the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak in the world, we have taken in the north and east of Syria through all civil and military institutions steps against the virus from reaching our regions, such as the curfew, and the suspension self-defense recruitment but Turkish violations increases the anxiety over the forthcoming challenges," he said.
"The military operations on the area have led to the hindering the efforts of fighting the pandemic and facilitates its spread ," he said.
The co-chair of the Defense Office called on Russia and the United States of America to support the UN ceasefire resolution, and pressure Turkey to reduce its attacks on northern and eastern Syria, and to implement UN resolutions.
