On April 28, a horrific massacre was witnessed by a bombing targeting a market in the occupied city of Afrin, in which dozens of civilians were killed, including children.
The Defense Office made clear in the Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria, through a statement that this massacre was added to the series of massacres committed by Turkey and its mercenaries throughout Syria, especially in Afrin.
The Defense Office indicated that: "At the time when the SDF immediately announced the launch of the international appeal to stop hostilities and the need to work to combat coronavirus, it fully committed in a practical way, the Turkish state took advantage of all these conditions and ignored the move to the required level of responsibility, where on the morning of April 28, 2020, it bombed areas of Kobani, and before that it did the same in al-Shahba areas, where the Afrin refugees who fled there to escape the bombing and practices of Turkey and its mercenaries were displaced.
The Defense Office of the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria said through the statement: "We in the Defense Office of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria assure the general world that the factions in Afrin are killing each other daily by plundering and stealing the civilians' properties in Afrin, while they are at odds and internal conflicts, so we reject refrain from such practices by targeting civilians with cowardly terrorist operations. "
The office said: "We affirm our condemnation of such practices and targeting of civilians, especially in light of the situations in which the entire world is passing and the coming month of Ramadan. We hold the Turkish state responsible for such crimes, and we confirm that they resort to these actions in a desire to change some balances in the areas they occupy from Syria, and they through these operations, it paves the way for future plans that will definitely harm the Syria's future and its people. "
The Defense Office indicated that the presence of the Turkish state as an occupied country in Syria is totally incompatible with efforts to achieve security and stability in Syria, and there can be no kind of stability with the presence of the Turkish occupation, and he said: "Therefore, everyone who is keen to achieve security in Syria must work to show Their responsible stances towards the Turkish role and the necessity of Turkey's exit and the end of its occupation, and those who are collaborating with it in killing of the Syrian people.
