Today, the activities of the cultural week for the Golden Crescent Movement began on its first day in the Mittan Hall in Ahdath district in al-Shahba canton, coinciding with the 24th anniversary of the martyrdom of the struggler Zainab Kenaji (Zilan).
Hundreds of displaced people in al-Shahba canton, representatives of the Autonomous Administration and civil society institutions attended the opening ceremony.
After holding a minute of silence, the Administrator of the Golden Crescent Movement, Mezgin Cholaq, gave a speech in which she said that the aim of launching the activities of the cultural week is to highlight the culture of the region "because culture is the identity of peoples, so if you want to know a community, you must know the culture of that community. We, women, want to revive the culture of the Kurds, Afrin's culture and its dissemination among the peoples and societies through this event. "
Then, a speech was delivered on behalf of the Kongra Star by the Member Maryam Jendou who recalled the martyr Zilan and touched on her struggling path.
The opening ceremony included the presentation of artworks and poems, including a poem in the name of "Zilan" delivered by the Member of the Golden Crescent Movement, Amal Omar. In addition, the Martyr Barin Band gave an artistic presentation that included a brief biography of the martyr Zainab Kenaji (Zilan).
The cultural week activities continued with the presentation of lyrical performances by the groups of the Martyr Haifa and the Martyr Berjem of the Golden Crescent Movement.
The activities of the first day ended with chanting the slogans that glorify the martyrs and salute the leader Abdullah Ocalan.
It is noteworthy that the Golden Crescent Movement organizes the activities of the cultural week every year since its foundation, and it is scheduled that the activities will continue for a whole week in which various events will be presented in a number of districts of al-Shahba and Afrin. Furthermore, the cultural week activities will continue tomorrow in al-Awda camp in Sherawa district in Afrin occupied canton.
