As the Covid-19 virus continues to spread throughout the world, the Autonomous Administration in Northern and Eastern Syria continues to take precautionary measures to protect citizens and prevent Corona virus from reaching its areas.
The Crisis Cell in Afrin canton issued a number of new decisions regarding the curfew it imposed to prevent the outbreak of Corona pandemic, through a meeting held on Wednesday in Al-Shahba canton.
In connection with these decisions, Sherine Hassan, the co-chair of Afrin canton and one of the members of the Crisis Cell, spoke to Hawar Agency, "After the spread of the Corona virus worldwide, the curfew was announced by Autonomous Administration in 23 of last March, and then it was extended to April 21 due to the lack of control of the pandemic globally.
"In our turn, we have taken several decisions, the first decision, to establish a quarantine center for arrivals from outside Al-Shahba canton, where they will be placed in quarantine for a period of 14 days, to ensure their safety and maintain the safety of the citizens living in the canton from the outbreak of the Corona virus."
"The second decision is to allow the preparation of agricultural harvesters, and to allow the shops that operate in maintenance and spare parts for the combine harvesters, and the third decision is to allow the opening of food stores (vegetables, foodstuff, and meat) in addition to pharmacists from 8 in the morning until 6 in the evening, as well as complete ban on roaming after 6:00 p.m."
The fourth decision is to distribute diesel fuel to the people according to cards designated for them during the crisis of unavailability of diesel fuel and a curfew.
Sherine Hassan ended her speech by saying: "Despite the meager possibilities, we are always fully prepared to protect our people living in Al-Shahba and secure all their needs, and we wish them to abide by the decisions to protect themselves from the pandemic."
