Court of Turkey tries lawyers kidnapped from Afrin

Two lawyers have been kidnapped by Turkish occupation army, and sentenced to prison for three years in Turkey.

A source from Afrin reported that the Turkish occupation kidnapped the lawyers Hikmat al-Hawa and Hassen Mannan on charges of belonging to a "terrorist organization."

The source pointed out that the lawyers were transferred to Turkey and were tried by the Turkey state's Security Court, and sentenced to three years imprisonment.

It should be noted that this judicial decision violates the most basic rules of international law because of the lack of jurisdiction of this court in the trial of Syrian lawyers, and the failure of the Court to observe the principles of fair criminal proceedings set out in the European Convention on Human Rights and in contravention of the provisions of the four Geneva International Conventions of 1949 and its annexes.
