The Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Ain Issa Aziz Gherbisan spoke to Hawar news agency about the recent field conditions in the area, the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries against the center and countryside of Ain Issa district, as well as the countryside of Girê Spî.
Clashes among mercenaries in the occupied areas
Gherbisan said that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries continue launching attacks against the villages of Girê Spî countryside such as the villages of Qezali, Goberlik, Kherab Serhosh, Birkeno, Avdekeh, Harin, Shalib, Jirn and Kore Hassen, in addition to the villages of Ain Issa such as the villages of Debs, Hoshan, Maalek, Fatseh al-Khalidiya, Saeeda, M4 road, Ain Issa camp, al-Saqr rest house and Ain Issa city’s center.
He added: “During these attacks, the civilians are specifically targeted with the aim of forcing them to flee and expand their areas of occupation. Their main goal is to occupy Ain Issa. The occupied villages are witnessing robberies, looting, kidnappings against the civilians. In addition, the mercenary gangs clash among themselves in the occupied territories because of disputes over the stolen goods.”
Syrian government forces, Russian forces do not respond to attacks
Gherbisan pointed out that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries are targeting intensively the Syrian government and Russian forces, but these forces do not respond to the attacks. He continued: “It is only our forces that protect Ain Issa city within the framework of its right to legitimate self-defense.”
He also noted that the civilians are not able to use the international M4 road because of the brutal attacks targeting them: "On the M4 road, the civilians are specifically targeted, and their aim is to control the road, so they launch violent attacks there. The Turkish occupation’s mercenaries seize the civilians’ cars and prevent them from passing through the road. The Turkish occupation army’s forces set up a military base in Hoshan village on the international road M4, and from there, they shoot fire towards civilians. They have claimed to open the road for the civilians after the armistice agreement, but so far the road has not been opened, and there is shooting in addition to daily attacks.”
We will not allow them to achieve their goals
The Commander Aziz Gherbisan emphasized the continuation of the resistance against the attacks of the occupation and its mercenaries, adding: “We will defend our people and protect our land until the end. With resistance, we will thwart the goals of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries in Ain Issa, and we will not allow them to achieve their goals.”
