Commander in MMC talks about Manbij liberation details

A commander in Manbij Liberation Council (MMC) talks about Manbij liberation campaign which started on May 1-2016 and said that the campaign aimed to liberate the civilians from Daesh mercenaries.   

The mercenaries of Daesh practiced all means of torture and criminality against civilians in Manbij, and the purpose of the formation of the Council of Manbij Military Council is to liberate the city of Manbij. After the liberation campaign, Manbij witnessed a great commercial movement, which is now considered one of the most developed cities in Syria.

Our agency interviewed a commander in MMC who talked about the details of the campaign and how they went and how they eliminated the most powerful terrorist organization in Manbij.

"We planned to attack from two axes, namely the axis of the Tishrin Dam, the Karkuzak Bridge,  the two axes later united in the village of Awsajli. The number of MMC was small so we coordinated with SDF to provide assistance."

"The mercenaries used civilians as human shields and they used to plant mines in all places, which led the fighters to wait sometimes, but we saved thousands of civilians," Abu Ali Najm said, adding that they had tightened their grip on mercenaries.

Abu Ali Najm added that the MMC presented many martyrs who "sacrificed their lives to liberate their people and their city from the abomination of terrorism as the martyr Abu Laila ."."

Abu Ali Najm pointed out that after the liberation of the city of Manbij, "the Civil Democratic Administration in Manbij and its villages met with the Manbij Military Council and the tasks were divided between them in Manbij and its villages to protect the city and  from any threat, and it was our responsibility to be the city of Manbij model of safety and stability, and the Civil Democratic Administration in Manbij and its countryside took its functions to meet the needs of civilians and the establishment of service projects and development of the economy in the city.

Abu Ali Najm said that they will be a dam in the face of any threat to the security and stability of the city and they are ready to respond to any attack.

At the end of his speech, Abu Ali Najm congratulated the city of Manbij by the third anniversary of the announcement of the liberation campaign of the abomination of terrorism and Eid al-Fitr.
