Coalition: Our forces responded to unknown individuals attacking our forces

The spokesman for the International Coalition, Colonel Myles Caggins, confirmed that a patrol of the International Alliance encountered a point for forces loyal to the Syrian regime, and confirmed that the patrol responded to unknown persons who shot the coalition forces.

"On Feb 12, Coalition Forces, conducting a patrol near Qamishli, Syria, coalition forces encountered a checkpoint occupied by pro-Syrian regime forces," said Colonel Myles Caggins, a spokesman for the International Coalition.

The spokesman indicated that after a series of warnings and attempts to reduce the escalation, the patrol came under small arms fire from unknown individuals, and the coalition forces returned the fire as self-defense.

Colonel Myles Caggins stated that the situation was de-escalated and is under investigation adding that the patrol has returned to the base.

Skirmishes took place in the village of Khirbet Amo, today, between an American patrol on the one hand and members of the national defense, the Syrian regime and the people of the village on the other, resulting in the death of one person and the injury of another, as a result of an attack on the patrol.
