Calling for dialogue instead of hostility, SDF refute regime's accusations

The General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) released a statement denouncing "the attempts of the Syrian regime through its Foreign Ministry to mislead the public opinion and the United Nations with all unfounded accusations against the SDF that made sacrifices to defeat ISIS and protect the people: all its components in northern and eastern Syria.” And called for dialogue and cessation of hostilities."

The text of the statement published by the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces on its official website:

"Once again, the Syrian regime, through its Foreign Ministry, seeks to mislead world public opinion and the United Nations by making unfounded accusations against our forces.”

“We would like to emphasize that these accusations will not deter us from continuing our duties in fighting terrorism and fulfilling our promises to all components of the Syrian people in northeastern Syria to protect the security and stability of their regions.”

It crystal clear to the public opinion that prior to the establishment of the SDF, the people of the region in the north-east of Syria expelled the regime's forces and security institutions through peaceful uprisings in 2012.When the SDF responded to the call of the people to liberate them from ISIS terrorism, the Syrian regime showed no interest, as its forces were hundreds of kilometers away from the region and are busy protecting their power centers in the capital, leaving the people suffering from the most brutal terror of the world's forces. The SDF has provided 11,000 martyrs and 24,000 wounded from its best fighters and commanders to carry out this great Syrian national duty. Therefore, the Syrian regime, which has failed to protect the people of the region from terrorism, is the last person entitled to speak for the people of the region.

In this context, we emphasize that most of the infrastructure, utilities, public facilities, government institutions and other bridges, factories and oil structures have been destroyed in northeastern Syria, especially in the governorates of al-Raqqa and Deir Ezzor were the result of indiscriminate shelling of the Syrian regime's aircraft.

To date, ISIS continues to use uncontrolled regime-controlled areas from which to carry out terrorist acts in northeastern Syria and target civilians. Most of the terrorist detainees have admitted that they came from the regime-held and the Euphrates Shield areas.

Besides, the regime's miserable attempts continue to create sedition among the components of the Syrian people in northeastern Syria and to carry out acts of sabotage.

Instead of the regime's Ministry of Foreign Affairs making complaints to the United Nations, we call on it once again to stop its hostile actions against our forces and the people of northeastern Syria, and reiterate our call for dialogue with the forces representing the Kurds, Arabs and all components of the northeastern region of Syria to search for real solutions to end the suffering of Syrians. It ensures peace and stability for all the peoples of Syria, on the basis of constitutional recognition of autonomous administrations and acceptance of the privacy of the SDF.
