British Foreign Minister discusses Yemeni issue in Aden

British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt on Sunday afternoon unexpectedly visited the Yemeni capital of Aden.

Yemeni Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt made a surprise visit to the Yemeni capital Aden on Sunday from the Saudi capital of Riyadh as part of a regional tour to push forward the peace process, Yemeni sources told RT.

According to the sources, minister Hunt was flown to Aden International Airport on a private plane. He was received by a number of officials in the Yemeni government and expected to meet with Yemeni Prime Minister Moin Abdul Malik and the government team on the redeployment committee stemming from the Swedish agreement.

Other Yemeni sources said that Minister Hunt left the Yemeni capital of Aden shortly after his arrival, without mentioning the reasons for his visit to Aden, while there was no official comment from London on the visit.

The British Foreign Secretary's visit to the region began with his visit to the Omani capital of Muscat. He then traveled to the Saudi capital of Riyadh where he met with President Abdurbo Mansour Hadi and held a meeting with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir in efforts to push forward the agreements on the Yemeni crisis.
