The agency said, "the realization of the interests of the peoples of the region requires their governments to stop obeying the will of some Western countries, especially America, and to adopt balanced policies based on respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their affairs."

According to the Iranian news agency "IRNA" Khamenei stressed the need to take caution in the face of what he described future plots, saying that

"The issue of the buffer zone that the Americans are trying to establish in Syria is one of these dangerous plots that must be opposed and stand firmly against it."
