The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the start of shipping the first batch of parts of the Russian missile system S-400 to Ankara airport.

In the midst of ongoing US threats, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the start of shipment of the first batch of parts of the Russian missile system S-400 to Ankara airport.

Pentagon officials have warned Turkey against economic sanctions against Ankara and the denial of US F35 aircraft to install the Russian S-400 missile system, which America considers to be a rival to its aircraft.

With Turkey buying Russian S-400 missiles, Turkey is subject to sanctions under the 2017 Act CAATSA, which may affect large sectors of the Turkish economy. Turkey faces full expulsion from the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter .
