Arîn Mîrkan …. Who terrorized ISIS' caliphate

Who is Arîn Mîrkan?

Arîn Mîrkan Real name Dilara Gênc was born in 1992 in the village of Husê in Mobata district of Afrin canton, also known as " Mîrkan". She joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in 2007, and with the outbreak of the Rojava revolution, she took part in the revolution and took her place among YPJ to defend the dignity of her people. But she quickly became role models for her comrades thanks to her humorous spirit, strong personality, deep thought, and constant pursuit of women's freedom and society.

Arîn and Kobani's resistance

In 2014, after ISIS mercenaries took control of the Iraqi city of Mosul and al-Raqqa and declared it the capital of their alleged caliphate, they besieged Kobani canton from three sides and began sporadic attacks on it, until September 15 to launch the biggest attack on it on three fronts and hundreds of kilometers long. In the south, east and west Kobani, and southern Turkey (north Kurdistan under Turkish authority).

The mercenaries attacked the area and practiced the most heinous violations of killing, displacement and burning on a geographical area not more than 4,350 km 2, including about 360 villages that have been besieged for nearly a year and a half. ISIS used heavy weapons from tanks and various artillery with a range of up to 30 km, and the fighters of YPG and YPJ had only a few individual weapons.

With more than 400,000 civilians in it, the YPG and YPJ the Euphrates Volcano Operations Room sought to rescue civilians who were being exterminated by ISIS, which enabled the latter to quickly reach the outskirts of Kobani. Arîn Mîrkan is an important turning point in the history of resistance

The self-sacrifice operation carried out by Arîn Mîrkan had attracted the eyes all over worlds to area and the risk which is surrounded against the whole world and in particular of the Middle East. On 7 October 2014, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on world powers with the potential to intervene urgently and act swiftly for Kobani, in a statement followed by UN Special Envoy for Syria Stéphan Dee. Mistura then told the BBC that the Kurds in Kobani were bravely defending themselves, and that the international community would not allow the city of Kobani to fall into the hands of ISIS mercenaries.

For his part, the President of the European Parliament Martin Scholes met with members of the Kurdish community in the building of the European Parliament and said to them: must intervene urgently against the attacks of ISIS mercenaries on Kobani. "The people of Kobani have shown the world how determined they are to protect their values and fundamental rights, and to show all forms of resistance in the face of injustice," Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, said in a statement on October 11.

In Kurdistan, the cities of Bakur witnessed over the days of 6 - 7 - 8 October mass demonstrations that the outbreak of the Justice and Development Party could not address, the cities of Rojhilatê and Başûr also witnessed demonstrations, as well as demonstrations throughout the cities of the world where the Kurdish community and pro-democracy all the way to Afghanistan.

After the worldwide resonance of Kobani's resistance worldwide, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, philosophers, historians, journalists, representatives of civic social organizations and thousands of people declared November 1 as “Kobani International Day”.

Women's resistance dispersed darkness of ISIS in Kobani
