Armenians: Turkish state does not want us to live safely in Rojava

Dozens of the Armenians in Qamişlo canton commemorated the genocide against the Armenians in 1915, during a religious ceremony.

The Ottoman Empire committed genocide against the Armenians in 1915 when approximately one million and 200,000 people were killed in the genocide. On 24 April, the Armenian component commemorates the day of genocide according to the beliefs of their faith.

Today, dozens of the Armenian component of the city of Qamişlo have commemorated the genocide in a religious ceremony held at the Gadias Hakop church in the Al-Wahda district of Qamişlo.

The Suturo forces protected the church and its ceremonies. At the beginning of the ceremony, one of the church monks recalled the day of the genocide and explained its history, after which the religious ceremonies began according to beliefs.

At the ceremony, an Armenian band delivered poems related to genocide.

The Dekran Khazarian family was displaced from the Sasson district of the city of Ilh in Bakur (northern Kurdistan) to Qamişlo. Many members of the family were killed in the genocide, he said "We are here to practice our religion freely, the Turkish state does not want us to live in security and safety in Rojava." he said.
