Armenian defense: clashes still continue in Karabakh region

Today, the Armenian Ministry of Defense said that tension in Artsakh / Karabakh region is still continuing, and indicated that the Karabakh Defense Forces have thwarted an attempt to advance the Azerbaijani forces.

The spokeswoman for the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, said on her Facebook page that the situation "is still tense on all lines of contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijan," adding that the tactical and operational situation has not changed.

She emphasized that some areas are still witnessing artillery and light weapons bombardment, noting that "the defense units of Karabakh thwarted the attempt of the Azerbaijani forces advance and change of their positions."

The Artsakh / Karabakh region, which is disputed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, has been witnessing battles since last Sunday, in which hundreds of people have been killed, including civilians.

Despite the international calls for a ceasefire, the battles are still continuing, especially with the Turkish statements that support Azerbaijan, and its operational practices by sending Syrian mercenaries to fight alongside Azerbaijan, in addition to the use of drones.
