April 24 marks the 105th anniversary of the series of massacres of Seyfo to which the Armenians, Assyrians, and Syriacs were subjected to at the hands of the Ottomans in 1914, which killed about a million and a half million children, women and men in the process of genocide and ethnic cleansing that has diminished its counterpart in human history.
In this regard, our agency held a meeting with the administrative officer in the municipality of Qamishlo Carbet Manoc from the Armenian component, where he recalled the massacre of Seyfo the Ottoman Empire committed against the Armenians, Syriacs and Assyrians.
The assassination of the Armenian journalist supporting the cause of his people
Manoc indicated that as a result of the mass extermination against them by the Ottoman Empire, more than a million and a half million Armenians, Syriacs, Assyrians, and Chaldeans were martyred, adding that this massacre is still continuing, this time at the hands of the descendants of the Ottomans, since in 2007 the Turkish authorities have assassinated the Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, who was following the Armenian case.
"Hrant Dink" is a Turkish-Armenian journalist, and he decided to establish the (Agus) newspaper, which is published in the Armenian and Turkish languages, and served as its editor-in-chief, to be a spokesperson for the Armenian citizens in Turkey, and Dink wanted "Agus" to be the voice of the Turkish democratic opposition to show The truth about the regime and the absence of justice against the Armenian community, and he continued to lead the editorial office until the date of his assassination in 2007.
We teach our children not to compromise in defense of our cause
Manoc drew attention to the fact that the date of April 24 of each year is a painful memory for the Armenians, Syriacs, Assyrians and other peoples who lived in the region and were subjected to extermination, indicating that despite the passage of more than a hundred years since those massacres committed against their peoples, they still teach their children and coming generations the necessity not to give up defending their cause and the lives of their grandparents and not to abandon the Armenian issue until the criminals and their descendants are held accountable.
The massacres of the Ottoman Empire continue at the hands of her granddaughter, Turkey
Manoc pointed out that the annihilation was not only against the Armenians and Syriacs, as the history of the Ottoman Empire was full of massacres against the oppressed minorities and peoples, recalling the massacres committed by the Turkish occupation against the Kurdish people in Bakur Kurdistan, to Rojava from Afrin, to Serekaniye and Girê Spi regions.
Noting that the Ottoman Empire was always the first to support terrorism, displacing thousands of civilians from their safe areas and changing the demographic population, and today its granddaughter, Turkey, follows the Ottoman path in committing massacres, demographic change and genocide.
Manoc called on all countries of the world to officially recognize the genocide of the Armenians, Syriacs, Assyrians, and Kurds committed by the Ottomans and their grandson Turkey, and to hold Turkey accountable for all its crimes and end its occupation of Syrian lands.
The goal of the Turkish occupation is to thwart the democratic nation project
Manoc stressed at the end of his speech that Turkey, the heir of the Ottoman Sultanate, is currently trying to thwart the project of the democratic nation that represents the values of peoples and the reality of the unity of their destiny in coexistence and brotherhood of peoples, saying: "During the years of implementing the project of the Democratic Autonomous Administration and brotherhood of peoples, the blood of all parts of the region mixed, without separating in defense of their land in the face of all the mercenary groups that Turkey supported to occupy our territories and commit new massacres against our peoples, we see that the project of the Autonomous Administration is a new and successful model for coexistence between all components.
