Al- Arab: Shiite forces fail to agree on the abolition of Zarfi’s mandate

Regarding the Iraqi issue, Al-Arab newspaper said, "Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Adnan al-Zarfi seeks to know whether there is an Iranian will behind the refusal expressed by the Shiite political forces for his continued consultations to form the new government, at a time when attempts to unify the position of these forces failed behind the demand to cancel the mandate".

The State of Law Coalition led by Nuri al-Maliki, the Badr Organization led by Hadi al-Amiri and Asaib Ahl al-Haq led by Qais Khazali and the Fadhila Party led by Hashem al-Musawi announced the rejection of President Barham Saleh’s decision to assign al-Zarfi to form the new government, while The National Wisdom Movement led by Ammar al-Hakim preserved the commissioning mechanism, which ignored the achievement of "Shiite consensus".

During a meeting in al-Hakim’s house, Iran's allies presented two alternatives to al-Zarfi, the governor of Basra, Asaad al-Eidani and a prominent employee in the presidency, Naim al-Suhail, and they put the option to keep the current resigned government led by Adel Abdul-Mahdi until the end of its electoral cycle, in the event of failure to agree on a candidate

But the meeting ended without agreeing on any of these matters, which was considered a catastrophic failure of the Shiite forces

According to observers and Shiite sources, the failure of the meeting is only the first round of confrontation, as the coming days will witness other rounds, although the failure of Iran's allies to mobilize the other forces behind them, gave Zarfi a strong boost.

Al-Maliki, al-Amri and al-Khazali failed to persuade al-Hakim at dawn on Friday, to abandon al-Zarfi publicly.

The first, second, and representative of the three spent long hours on Thursday at al-Hakim's home, until dawn on Friday, without announcing any agreement or understanding

And all the forces that reject Zarrafi are almost completely identical to the Iranian position, and they are accused of preferring Iran's interests to those of Iraq

Al-Bayan: Erdogan's mercenaries fail to change the map of confrontations in Libya

As for Al Bayan newspaper, it touched upon the Libyan situation and the failure of Turkey's mercenaries to change the map of confrontations in Libya and said: "The Libyan National Army continues to score important points in the battlefields, despite the great Turkish support for Houmt al-Wefaq militias, whether they are mercenaries, including fighters and experts, or with munitions and ammunition

Militias backed by Turkish mercenaries face a daily attrition process, in various axes, especially in Ramle, the airport road, Salah al-Din and Ain Zara, where they suffer heavy losses in elements and equipment

Brigadier Khaled al-Mahjoub, a spokesman for the al-Karamah Operations Room, said that during the past days, the militia had deliberately violated the armistice to target the army’s concentrations, but our forces were ready to respond quickly, noting that dozens of people were killed among the armed groups

He added that the army is able at any moment to finish the mission, and eradication the conspiracies of Erdogan and its mercenaries completely, but that the commitment to the truce announced since January 12 by the General Command is what makes the army forces in the position of confrontation

The Syrian Observatory had said in its latest statistic: The number of Syrian mercenary deaths in Libya rose to 129 terrorists. He added: “According to our sources, the mercenaries were killed during the clashes on the axes of Salah El-Din neighborhood south of Tripoli, the Ramla axis near Tripoli airport and the axis of the Hadaba project"

Al-Arab: Turkey exploits the world's preoccupation with Corona to dump Libya with weapons

In the same context, Al-Arab newspaper said: "Media reports revealed that Turkish intelligence continues to send more weapons and equipment to militias loyal to the government of Fayez al-Sarraj in Libya, and to plunge more mercenaries into battles in the vicinity of the capital, Tripoli, taking advantage of the world's preoccupation with the emerging Corona virus.

In an attempt to save the militias of al-Sarraj government from total collapse, in the face of the continued progress of the Libyan army units led by Field Marshal Khalifa Hifter, towards the center of the capital Tripoli, reports indicated that the ship "I" left the Turkish port of Istanbul towards Libya, and was loaded with a new shipment of equipment and military equipment

The same reports, quoting diplomatic and intelligence sources, revealed that this ship, which survived last month from the aerial bombardment that targeted it at the port of Tripoli, changed its name from "I" to "Bray", and also changed the flag it was raising previously, from the flag of Albania to the flag of Sierra Leone

And confirmed that the cargo of this ship, which was supervised by a number of Turkish intelligence officers, includes many armored vehicles, ammunition and a new radar system instead of the one that was destroyed earlier by the Libyan army at Mutaiga base in Tripoli

According to the same sources, the aforementioned ship was expected to be loaded with medical equipment and supplies to help Libya cope with the outbreak of the Corona virus, but the Turkish authorities chose to load it with equipment, armored vehicles and ammunition

The disclosure of the movement of this Turkish ship towards Libya comes as fighting renewed in the vicinity of the capital Tripoli, where elements of the Libyan army units succeeded in making progress on the level of Ain Zara, south of the capital Tripoli.
