In solidarity with the parliamentarian Leyla Guven and her fellows' resistance, the Free Women Union issued a statement to the world public opinion in front of the Women's House for Training and Awareness House in Fafin district of al-Shahba canton.
The statement's reading was attended by dozens of women of al-Shahba with all its components.
The statement was read by the member of the Coordination Committee of the Free Women Union of al-Shahba Zehra Kalo.
The text of the statement included,
"Women have become a model of resistance, and no matter how the methods of the dictatorial countries in the persecution, practicing the policy of defamation and abusing of peoples develop, the methods of resistance will also develop, and the Turkish-fascist state led by the Justice and Development Party which practices terrorism against the strugglers and political opponents and support terrorism in the Middle East would not be able to stop this struggle.
The Turkish state arrested the parliamentarians elected by the people and arrested the politicians, violating all laws and democratic standards.
The arrest of thousands of political activists, led by parliamentary political activist Leyla Guven whose hunger strike has been ongoing for more than 115 days, and as a result of the deterioration of her health, she has been released by the Turkish authorities for fear of the public reaction. Turkey's attempt to thwart the resistance that spread in prisons and continued in most squares of struggle failed. Moreover, the number of hunger strikers reached more than 300 strugglers.
The silence of Human Rights' organizations against the resistance of the activist Leyla Guven and her comrades, the deterioration of her health and her conflict every minute with death confirms and proves that these international organizations are partners in the conspiracy. We, on behalf of Free Women Union in al-Shahba and all the components of women, condemn this deadly and immoral silence of Human Rights' organizations and affirm our support for this struggle."
