AKP's application for cancellation of elections in Istanbul rejected

Turkey's electoral commission on Friday rejected a request by the Justice and Development Party (AKP) to cancel the results of Istanbul municipal council elections.

Turkey's municipal election commission has rejected the AKP's request to cancel the election results in Istanbul.

The AK Party, with its loss of capital Ankara and Istanbul, the country's economy, suffered a major setback for the party, which has ruled the country for nearly 15 years.

The People's Democratic Party(HDP) won the local administration elections in eight cities and 45 districts, including all areas of Amed, which were previously imposed by the Turkish authorities.
