AANES recalls victims of Al-Shaitat massacre

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) expressed its denunciation of the Shaitat massacre committed by ISIS mercenaries in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and stressed that Turkey repeated the same scene through its daily attacks and massacres against  components of NE Syria.

On Sunday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued a written statement to the public opinion, calling on the components and peoples of Syria to stand in the face of the Turkish occupation and its attacks on the Syrian geography in general and northeastern Syria in particular, and to rally around their military forces under the umbrella of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The text of the statement read:

“The middle of August of each year marks the ninth anniversary of the largest and most heinous massacre in the history of the Syrian movement, committed by the terrorist organization ISIS against the Al-Shaitat clan in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. However, the Al-Shaitat clan and those with them from the eastern Deir ez-Zor clans refused ideology of killing and abuse, and they challenged the tyranny and terror of this organization and its Salafi ideology, so they staged a massive uprising against ISIS organization.

This organization still receives support from international and regional parties and powers, especially the Turkish state, which supported the terrorist organization ISIS with all kinds of support, until it entered both Iraq and Syria and committed massacres against its children, accompanied by a great media aura in which terror and terrorism spread, including daily scenes, so the lords of terrorism issued a fatwa to kill and slaughter all those who met on their way, men, children and women from Syria and Iraq from all components, such as the Al-Shaitat clan, which challenged their terrorism and authority.

ISIS’s Al-Battar killed more than 1,200 men, children, women and the elderly, and this massacre left more than 2,260 children orphaned according to human rights reports, and more than 300 missing to date. The property of more than 170,000 people was looted. They destroyed more than 12,000 homes belonging to the al-Shaitat clan in villages and towns such as al-Granij, Abu al-Hamam, al-Kashkiyah and other villages in the area.

Today, we are in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria remember our martyred sons from the Al-Shaitat clan and our martyrs in NE Syria who sacrificed the most precious in the face of the most powerful global terrorist organization in legitimate defense of Syria and the world As well as in the face of the tyranny of the Turkish state and its occupation of areas of Syria.

Turkey, which revealed its true face in its (alleged support for the Syrian people), was clear in its support for terrorism and armed groups that destroyed and looted the capabilities of the Syrian people to serve its chauvinistic statist agendas.
