The Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria issued a statement regarding the decision of the ceasefire agreement agreed upon between the United States and the Turkish side.
The statement reads:
“The Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria, we reaffirm our full commitment to the implementation of the ceasefire agreed upon between the United States of America represented by Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and the Turkish side.
We affirm that this decision would not have been possible without the mythical resistance and heroic sacrifices made by the sons and daughters of the SDF. As well as international pressure by the majority of the countries of the world, which condemned this brutal Turkish aggression on the autonomous areas of northern and eastern Syria, where the world united against this barbaric Turkish invasion and lined up with the Syrian Democratic Forces, which defended the entire world in the fight against terrorism against ISIS and provided more than 11 thousand martyrs and thousands of the wounded and injured.
However, Turkey has not adhered to the ceasefire resolution so far in some areas, especially in Serekaniye / Ras al-Ain and there are martyrs and wounded as a result.
We assure our people in Syria that this agreement, which covers the area between Gire Spi/ Tall Abyad and Serekaniye/ Ras al-Ain.
With the guarantee of the return of all displaced people and all Syrian components to their areas from which they were displaced, the fascist Turkish regime misses the chance to implement what it wanted to achieve by conducting a policy of ethnic cleansing and demographic change of the components of this region it wants to occupy, and the Turkish regime misses the occupation of more pure Syrian land.
Some of its provisions also need to be discussed with the United States as a responsible body.
In the Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria, we would like to thank the Syrian Democratic Forces, which thwarted the Turkish colonial plans thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs and the pure blood they gave to keep the Syrian territory insurmountable to the invaders.
We also thank all the countries that stood by us in these difficult days and condemned this unjust aggression on Syrian territory.
We call on our people in the north and east of Syria to remain fully prepared and to support the SDF until the ceasefire resolution is finally established.
We assure our people and people in the north and east of Syria, and indeed in all of Syrian components that the Syrian Democratic Forces, which fought for five continuous years against ISIS terrorism, will not be defeated. It knows only the word of victory and will continue to defend Syrian sovereignty whenever it requires it. ''
