The co-chair of the Defense Office of Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria, released a statement on tripartite understandings between SDF, US and Turkey regarding the security mechanism "border protection" that took place on 7 August.
Al-Assi said "As part of the tripartite understandings regarding border security with Turkey, the first practical steps were taken on 24th of this month in the area of Serêkaniyê (Ras Al-Ain), by removing some earth mounds and withdrawing a group of YPG and heavy weapons to their new points and hand over the border points to the local forces. "
He added: "Also on the 26th of this month the same steps were implemented in the area of Tel- Abyad /."
Al-Assi affirmed that the measures they have implemented confirm the seriousness of their commitment to the current understandings and their eagerness to reach a solution to all issues through peaceful dialogue with neighboring countries.
