Federal Court meets over lawsuit against Nechirvan, Barzani, and Reber Ahmed
Tomorrow, the Iraqi Federal Court will meet over the lawsuit filed against Nechirvan, Masrour Barzani, and Reber Ahmed on charges of preventing displaced persons from returning to their homes.
Roj News Agency noted that the Iraqi Federal Court is scheduled to meet on Sunday over the lawsuit filed against (Nechirvan, Masrour Barzani, and Reber Ahmed) on charges of preventing displaced persons from returning to their homes.
According to the list of court hearings, the Federal Court is scheduled to meet over a lawsuit submitted by the Iraqi Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Evan Faiq.
The lawsuit was registered by the Minister of Immigration and Displacement on March 23, against Nechirvan Barzani, the outgoing President of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, the Caretaker Prime Minister, as well as the Government’s Interior Minister, Reber Ahmed.
The Minister of Immigration and Displacement asked the Federal Court to consider the case and oblige the caretaker government of South Kurdistan to implement Resolution 24007 of 2024 of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, which stipulates the return of displaced persons and the closure of camps.
It was stated in the minister’s lawsuit that: “The Kurdistan Region prevents the return of displaced persons and immigrants to their homes.” The Iraqi government had previously announced that the Kurdistan Democratic Party was preventing their return.
