Yemeni army advancing north of Dali

Yemeni forces advanced in the Maris area of the northern Dali Front and regained control of a number positions controlled by the Houthis.

The military sources in the field told Al Arabiya Net that the Yemeni army took control of the heights of the fortress of Shaddad and Rudman and al-Qehra and reached the outskirts of the region of Yays South Damet.

The confrontations resulted in the deaths and injuries in the ranks of al-Huthis and dozens of its members retreated north to the city of Damet, the last cities of Dali, which is still dominated by the Houthis.

Yemen, the poorest country in the Arabian Peninsula, has been battling a war since 2014 between Iran-backed Houthis and forces loyal to Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and escalated in March 2015 as Saudi Arabia led a military alliance in support of Hadi's forces.
