US delegation in Turkey to establish joint center

A US delegation has arrived in the town of Roha, near the Turkish-Syrian border, to oversee the planned safe area in northern Syria, Turkish authorities said today.

This comes after US-led talks in Turkey and northern Syria, which led to the establishment of a joint center to oversee the establishment of a safe area.

"NATO member countries agreed at last week's talks to establish the center that will manage the area in northern Syria, although no major details of the region, including its size and the structure of the joint patrol command there, have been agreed," Reuters reported.

CNN had said this afternoon that 90 US soldiers also arrived in Roha, to oversee the establishment of the safe area.
