The first conference of PYD was held in the Culture and Art Center in al-Qanaya district in Kobanî canton, in which speeches were delivered.
The conference started with holding a minute of silence. After that, the co-chair of the party Shahoz Hassen welcomed the attendees and said, "Turkey seeks to restore the regime of the Ottoman rule in the area, and Erdogan imposed himself as an Islamic Caliphate on the area's peoples; Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs and Armenians so he threats to eliminate the democratic nation's project that unified the peoples with all components and foiled the schemes of Turkey."
Shahoz continued his speech saying, "Many schemes are plotted against us so that we have to be aware that the peoples of the area have adequate awareness to stand against all challenges."
On behalf of the Martyrs' Families Council, Mohammed Sheikhi talked and congratulated the attendees on the first conference and said, "Through the martyrs' sacrifices, PYD has been established. This party is the party of the martyrs who struggled for the sake of a free and democratic society."
Other several speeches were delivered among them a speech delivered on behalf of Kongra Star by Hayfa Muslem, on behalf of the Future Syria Party by Mohammed Delil. The speeches congratulated on holding the conference, confirming that the people in north and east of Syria reached high levels of awareness and struggle, and nobody has been able to undermine the will of this people.
