Al-Raqqa city suffered a general destruction in the infrastructure due to the fierce fighting witnessed during its liberation from ISIS, in addition of planting mines in thousands of civilians' homes, some of which were partially destroyed, and others destroyed completely.

After the liberation of the city of al-Raqqa, it has witnessing a constructional movement at all levels, most importantly residential (houses) destroyed by the war

The co-chair of the People's Municipality Ahmad al-Ibrahim said" The number of building homes after the destruction is reached to 600 houses and 84 buildings and the statistics came according to licenses granted by the People's Municipality in the city of al-Raqqa"

He added "The stage of reconstruction of destroyed houses exceeded 40% after a year of liberation.

Ibrahim noted "All the licenses granted to the owners of the destroyed homes are free of charge in general, but for newly constructed homes, the license fees are paid in small amounts,"

It is worth mentioning that the People's Municipality was established on 10 March 2018 and has been providing services to the people of al-Raqqa since then.
