Manbij.. DCA calls on international community to pressure Turkey to stop its attacks

The co-chair of the Executive Council in the Democratic Civil Administration of Manbij and its countryside, Muhammad Khair Sheikho, called on the international community to put pressure on Turkey to stop its attacks that, for about a week, have targeted villages in the vicinity of Manbij, endangering civilians' lives and damaging their property.

The demands of the Democratic Civil Administration (DCA) in Manbij came against the backdrop of a Turkish bombardment of villages in the north and west of the city of Manbij since the beginning of this week, targeting inhabited areas.

In an interview with Hawar News Agency, Muhammad Khair Sheikho said, "The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are repeatedly bombing villages on the border strip, targeting safe civilians in their homes, which led to the death of a number of them and the wounding of others as a result of the bombing, which impelled civilians to leave their homes during this week.”

He added, "The people of Manbij are accustomed to these attacks, which are not new, which are an indication of their bankruptcy in all the plans and plots against our safe people in these areas."

Muhammad Khair Sheikho called on the international community and human rights organizations to put pressure on all parties that sponsor armed groups and the Turkish occupation to reduce these attacks.

He emphasized that over the past days and years they did not attack their neighbors, on the contrary, the neighbors are violating the sanctities of the people living in the area.

In the face of the Turkish attacks, Sheikho stressed the people's determination to resist and not to abandon their homes and land, and concluded his speech by saying, “We in the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij and its countryside confirm we stand with the people who live on the border strip hand in hand in order to respond to this aggression on the safe areas.”
