Iraqi forces launched massive operation against IS' remnants

Iraqi forces launched a massive campaign to prosecute Daesh mercenaries' elements from the Iraqi territories to the Syrian border, and called "the will of victory."

In a statement, the Iraqi forces announced the start of a large-scale military operation to prosecute Daesh mercenaries starting from the provinces of Salah al-Din, Nineveh and al-Anbar arriving to the Syrian border.

The deputy commander of joint operations, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Yarallah, said that large forces of the Iraqi army, popular mobilization factions and tribal mobilization participate in the military operation, and with the air support of the Iraqi Air Force and the International Coalition.

The Iraqi government announced a victory over Daesh in July 2017 but they resort to hiding in remote places and launching surprise attacks and terrorist operations in different parts of Iraq.
