Iran is preparing to hold an emergency meeting to discuss nuclear file

The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced an emergency meeting on Sunday in the Austrian capital Vienna to discuss the rescue of the Iranian nuclear deal.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday announcing that an "emergency meeting" will be held next Sunday with the participation of major powers in an attempt to save the Iranian nuclear deal.

The ministry said, according to Agence France Presse, that the signatories to this agreement, with the exception of the United States, which withdrew from it, will be represented at this meeting at ministerial level or at the level of political directors.

The emergency meeting of the Joint Commission on Iran's nuclear agreement, signed in 2015, comes exactly one month after the last such meeting in the Austrian capital.

At the end of the previous meeting, Tehran announced that "some progress" had been made in helping Iran circumvent US sanctions, but at the same time considered that progress "insufficient".
