Houthis drop aircraft belonging to Alliance

The Houthis announced on Thursday that a Alliane aircraft was shot down in Najran, southwest of Saudi Arabia.

The information center of " Ansarullah " said that the plane was on reconnaissance missions, but the forces of " Ansarullah " was able to stop it.

"Ansar Allah fighters managed to shoot down a reconnaissance plane off al-Sudais in the Najran sector."

The center of Ansarullah did not say what type of plane was dropped, and whether it is a drone or not.

For more than four years, there have been fierce battles between Ansarullah and allied forces on the one hand and the Yemeni army on the other, supported by an Arab-led military alliance led by Saudi Arabia.

The Alliance and army forces loyal to Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi are seeking to restore areas seized by Ansarullah in January 2015.

In the face of continued military operations, Yemen is facing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Thousands of people have been killed and wounded, according to the United Nations, and 22 million people, or about 75 percent of the population, need some form of humanitarian assistance and protection.
