For 7th day in a row... Human shields face occupation

Hundreds of people from Kobani canton continue to carry out human shields on the border strip near the northern separation wall in Syria against Turkish threats to occupy various parts of northern Syria.

The human shields began on the 17th of this month in the village of Qara Mog, east of the city of Kobani, and the village of Ziyara to the north-west of the canton, rejecting Turkish threats.

The activities of the human shields come after the Turkish occupation mobilized dozens of armored vehicle and heavy weapons near the border.

The Turkish statements on the occupation of the areas of Tel Rifat and Girê Spi/ Tel Abyad within the Syrian territory were met with a popular rejection where thousands went out in various activities condemning the threats and the silence of the international community.

Human shields continue to operate hundreds of meters away from a military base of the Turkish occupation and the occupied city of Jarablus.

The participants in the sit-in formed human shields, as well as carrying banners that salute the resistance of the people and chanted slogans against the Turkish occupation.

On Monday, a popular demonstration attended by thousands of Syrians near the base of "Kharab Ashak village", one of the main bases of the International Coalition in Syria south of Kobani, calling on the international community, especially the country members in the coalition to show their position on the Turkish threats.
